Yowza!! Expands Access to Mobile Coupons for Small Businesses with Affiliate Program
Location-Based Coupon Application’s Users Empowered to Join Sales Team
Los Angeles, CA—May 25, 2010—Yowza!!, the free paperless mobile coupon application, has today announced the launch of its new Affiliate Program. In order to build upon the rapidly-growing roster of small businesses offering Yowza!! coupons to their customers, the affiliate program offers a 25 percent commission to individuals or organizations that bring new retailers, restaurants or other merchants on board.
The Yowza!! Affiliate Program expands the company's sales team by offering strong incentives to anyone who promotes the application via their website, email, social media or word of mouth. Less than two months ago, Yowza!! launched a self-serve option, and since then, five to seven new local businesses per week have signed up as clients in markets ranging from Riverwood, IL, and Grand Prairie, TX, to Huntington Beach, CA and New York, NY. Whether through self signup, the Yowza!! sales team or this newly-launched Affiliate Program, it has never been easier for companies to offer exclusive savings to the five million consumers who already have access to Yowza!!'s coupons.
"Yowza!! users are incredibly loyal and very quick to tell their friends whenever new brands and deals go live," said Greg Grunberg, co-creator of Yowza!! "We feel the Yowza!! Affiliate Program is a great way to not only reward these users, but also introduce mobile coupons to small businesses based in the same markets in which our biggest fans live. Who better to introduce cool local businesses to the concept of mobile coupons than users who shop and dine locally every day?"
In total, over 250 retailers, restaurants and other merchants have partnered with Yowza!!, in 15,000 locations nationwide, with each Participating Retailer paying only $49 per location per month, and able to change or update offers as often as they'd like with no additional fees (up to three coupons may be offered at a time). Users - who are 52.6 percent male and 47.4 percent female, with an average age of 35 - can search for deals by location - from one to 50 miles away from where they are at any given time - retrieve a coupon, and then present it to the cashier who can scan or enter a coupon code directly from their mobile device.
Launched in June 2009, Yowza!! is a free and innovative mobile couponing application designed to save consumers money and stimulate retail business. Downloaded by over one million users since its launch on Apple's iTunes application store last year, and also available to an additional four million users via the free WHERE application on the Blackberry, Palm Pre and Android, Yowza!! provides consumers with deals and discounts while also giving businesses the ability to monitor performance on an up-to-the-minute basis.
Yowza!! was founded by television and film writer/producer/actor Greg Grunberg (from NBC's hit drama, Heroes, and currently starring in NBC's new Thursday night comedy, Love Bites) and technology entrepreneur August Trometer. Unlike traditional forms of couponing such as newspaper ads and insertions, the paperless Yowza!! offers are inexpensive to implement, environmentally-friendly, can be updated instantly, and can be targeted per region or particular store location.
